This is great news... BUT...
I
actually have mixed emotions about it. I love the fact that it can be a
whole lot easier to get stem cells, but I would have loved the current
debate about using stem cells from discarded embryos (from in-vitro
cases) to have been resolved rationally. People were actually arguing
against using the cells, claiming it was human life, when the cells
were being discarded anyway. Umm this "life" is being "terminated"
anyway. Why not make it a mini organ donor?
Anyway... awesome
news. I hope this is as promising as it sounds. We could make
incredible progress on lots of diseases that way.
